Pilgrim Homes was founded as 'The Aged Pilgrims' Friend Society' in 1807, to help especially elderly Protestant Christians.  At first it helped with pensions and practical help, but always with spiritual support. Now we have nine schemes in different parts of the country offering residential and nursing care, sheltered and very sheltered housing, and extra care housing (or assisted living).  All are renowned for their

 

loving care and Christian ethos, with daily 'devotions', Bible readings and Sunday services. Each scheme has three support groups of Christians from local churches.  Pilgrim Homes is an 'Investor in People' and cares for its staff, as it does its residents, as 'unto the Lord'. (Matthew 25:40)  

Our newest development, a extra care housing (assisted living) scheme, Royd Court in Mirfield, West Yorkshire, was opened early 2007.  It is a safe, Christian neighbourhood, with one- and two-bedroom flats for purchase or rental.  When needing care, occupants can receive this in their own homes in the scheme.  Evangelical Christians from a wide range of backgrounds and denominations form a committed, Christian community.
